RODE VIDEOMIC Rycote Directional On-camera Microphone
The Rode's VIDEOMIC is a professional-grade 1/2-inch condenser microphone for the use with consumer video cameras and personal audio recorders. The VideoMic capsule and electronics are also isolated from the all-metal shoe mount by an integrated Rycote® Lyre® based shock mounting system, which provides isolation from extraneous physical elements that could produce unwanted rumbling and vibrations in the microphone. The Lyre®, which is made of a single piece of tough thermoplastic, provides superior acoustic suspension to typical elastic solutions and will never wear out, sag, or snap. It has a 3/8" shoe mount as well as a normal-sized shoe mount. For easy mounting on a boom pole or stand, there is even better a thread in the base. This microphone becomes very directed by using a super-cardioid polar pattern, focusing on the topic in front of the camera while minimising any background noise.
