AUDIX VX5 Premium Electret Condenser Vocal Microphone
Designed for stage, studio, and broadcast applications, this mic is a professional, multi-purpose condenser microphone. Audix’s VX5 provides studio-quality sound on stage due to its smooth and accurate frequency response, resistance to feedback, and ability to handle very high SPL levels without distortion. A feature of the VX5 condenser microphone is its tight, controlled super-cardioid polar pattern, which helps isolate vocals from the rest of the stage. The speakers also feature a 14 mm gold vapour diaphragm, an acoustically ported steel mesh grille with a multi-stage pop filter, and a -10 dB pad and bass roll-off filter. SPLs are exceeded by 140 dB with the VX5 (with the roll-off and pad engaged) and ambient noise is rejected by 20 dB with the VX5. These super-cardioid microphones are also designed to record instruments such as guitars, woodwinds, brasses, percussion toys, drum overheads, hi-hats, and pianos in addition to vocal applications.
